Sensex rallied over 500 points
MUMBAI [Maha Media]: The BSE Sensex remained firm for the third straight session on Monday as it zoomed 526 points to 74177.87 in the opening session on strong global cues.
The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) gained 178.95 points to 22,505.85. All the sectoral indices opened in green. The Sensex registered intraday highs and lows at 74,254.52 and 73,943 points respectively. The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 22,529.95 and 22,443.35 points respectively. The Mid Cap rose 1.33 pc and Small Cap by 2.10 pc. In 30 scrips, 25 advanced while 5 declined. The gainers were JSW Steel by 4.37 pc to Rs 867.70, Tata Steel by 2.89 pc to Rs 160.40, M& M by 1.96 pc to Rs 1959.10 and L& T by 1.69 pc to Rs 3836.70.
The losers were Titan by 0.96 pc to Rs 3768.35, Nestle India Ltd by 0.20 pc to 2618 and Bharti Airtel by 0.15 pc to 1227.15.
