NEET PG 2023 Postponement: SC's hearing likely this week

NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: Days after Union Health Minister’s statement, denying NEET PG 2023 postponement, doctors have filed case in the Supreme Court.

Students have been demanding the exam postponement, stating that they have been given no time for exam preparation considering the tough schedule of internship.

Reportedly, the Apex Court will take up the matter in couple of days. According to FAIMA President Dr Rohan Krishnan, the matter may be taken up in the top court on Monday or Tuesday.

Unconfirmed report say the hearing may be within this week. On February 10, Health Minister Mansukh Mandavia had justified the decision of not to postpone the exam, stating that government was trying to restore the delayed session due to Corona.

NEET PG 2023 registration has already closed. National Board of examinations had opened the final correction window on February 18, allowing candidates to modify incorrect images in NEET PG 2023 application form. The last date for correction window is February 20. It is to be noted that registration window was reopened following decision to extend NEET PG 2023 internship cut off. The cut off deadline for internship was extended from June 30 to August 11. NBE had reopened registration window from February 9 to February 12. The final correction window for the exam will open from February 18 to February 20. Candidates will be able to rectify incorect images such as photograph, signature and thumb impression through the final correction window for NEET PG 2023.

Meanwhile, students have also approached the Telangana High Court for exam postponement. Hearing the students’ plea, the Court has asked National Medical Commission (NMC) to reconsider about NEET PG 2023 postponement. Considering the merit of the matter, the Court directed the Commission to re-look the issue and give its decision in two weeks. NMC had earlier declined to postpone the exam date.
