
Girls outshine boys in UP board high school, inter exams
PRAYAGRAJ [Maha Media]: Girls have outshined the boys in the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board (UP Board) high school and intermediate examination, whose results were declared by the board on Friday, officials said here.
Official said that in high school, Yash Pratap Singh of Jalaun has topped the state with 97.83 percent marks, while in intermediate examination, Mehak Jaiswal of Prayagraj has topped the state with 97.2 percent marks.
Officials said that 90.11 percent students have passed the board's high school examination, in which the passing percentage of girls is 93.87 and that of boys is 86.66 percent, while in intermediate examination, 81.85 percent students have passed. In this, the passing percentage of girls is 86.37 and that of boys is 76.60 percent.
In the high school examination, Yash Pratap of RKD Inter College Umri, Jalaun has secured first position in the state by securing 587 marks out of 600, while Anshi of Shivaji SN Inter College, Etawah has secured 586 marks out of 600 and Abhishek Yadav of Saraswati Vidya Mandir Inter College Ramsanehi Ghat, Barabanki has secured the second position jointly with the same marks.
In intermediate, Mehak Jaiswal of Bachhacha Ram Yadav Inter College, Bulathi Ka Pura, Prayagraj has secured 486 marks out of 500, while Sakshi of Shri Narayan Saraswati Inter College Gajraula, Amroha has secured 484 marks out of 500 and Adarsh Yadav, a student of Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Kadipur, Sultanpur has secured the second position jointly with the same marks.
It may be noted that 8,140 examination centres were set up in the state for high school and intermediate examinations.
A total of 54.38 lakh students were registered for the examination, but 3.02 lakh students had left the examination. The copies were checked at 261 centres from March 19 to April 2.
