100 5G Labs, Centres of excellence for AI, 157 Nursing Colleges
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: 100 Labs will be established at engineering colleges in the country for developing 5G applications to realize new opportunities, stated Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during her Budget 2023 speech. 30 skill Indian international centres will be set up for the skill development of youth.
Finance Minister also announced that 157 new nursing colleges will be established in core locations. Regarding the establishment of 100 labs, FM said that leading industry players will partner in conducting inter-disciplinary research, and develop cutting-edge applications & scalable problem solutions in the areas of agriculture, health and sustainable cities.
In the next 3 years, the government will employ 38,800 teachers and support staff for 740 Eklavya model schools supporting tribal students.
Indian Institute of Millet Research will be supported as a centre of excellence: FM Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament. New age courses will be launched in areas of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science,
FM Nirmala Sitharaman said: “A National Digital Library for children and adolescents will be set up for facilitating the availability of quality books across geographies, languages, genres and levels and device-agnostic accessibility."
In the Budget 2023 speech, FM said that states will be encouraged to set up physical libraries for them at panchayat and ward levels and provide infrastructure for accessing the National Digital Library resources.
"Three centres of excellence for AI will be set up in top educational institutes, to make AI in India and make AI for India," announced Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
100 labs for developing applications using 5G services will be set up in engineering institutions to realize the new range of opportunities, business models and job potential.
