MP: Half-yearly XI to XII exams begin on Jan 2
BHOPAL [Maha Media]: Half yearly examination for class IX to XIII students will be held under guidance of Directorate of Public Interest (DPI) from January 2 to 9. The exam will be held in two different shifts, 7:30 am to 10:30 am and 11 am to 2 pm.
Many students have raised objection over exam time as they have to get up at 5 am to appear in exam hall at 7:30 am. They said that district administration has asked schools to start their daily session after 8:30 am amid the cold conditions, DPI is starting exam from 7:30.
Earlier, DPI had scheduled half yearly examinations from December 1 to 8 and schools had done their preparation. At eleventh hour, DPI rescheduled the exam from December 12 to 19. For the third time exams were scheduled to be held in last week of December.
For the fourth time DPI has decided to conduct the exam from January 2. Class IX and X exams will be held from January 2 to 9 from 11 am to 2 pm. Class XI and XII exams will be held from 7:30 am 11:30.
Every year DPI conduct its half yearly examinations by the end of November but this year it could not be held yet. Due to delay in exams, students will be appearing for three different exams in three consecutive months.
In January, there is half-yearly exam, in February there is preboard exam for class X and XII and in March there is final board examination for class X and XII. DPI has said that question paper envelop would be allowed to open a day before exam for printing purpose in presence of exam in-charge and a education officer. District Education Officer can form a committee of three principals to maintain confidential exam.
