MP Board: Students will get 'second chance' to pass in July
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has made a big decision regarding Class 10 and 12 board exams.
The supplementary exam system has been removed.
Instead, there will now be two main exams—one regular and one for students who fail the first.
This change follows the National Education Policy (NEP) and will be used to prepare the final results.
This decision will apply to the 2024-25 academic session. It was approved in the MPBSE general meeting, and a proposal has been sent to the government. The first board exam for MP will start on February 24, and the second main exam will be held in July after the results of the first exam are declared.
The second exam will replace the supplementary system. Students’ final mark sheets will be based on the best scores from both exams. This model is already in use in Gujarat and Chhattisgarh since last year. Every year, around 18 lakh students appear for MP Board exams.
Who Can Take The Second Exam?
Previously, students who failed one subject could take a supplementary exam. Now, students failing in one or more subjects can appear for the second main exam in July.
Earlier, failed students had the option to take exams under the "Ruk Jana Nahi" scheme of the State Open Board. Now, they can appear in the second main exam for one or more subjects.
