Union govt reacts to lizard in school breakfast incident
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: The Union government has expressed grave concern over media reports revealing the presence of a lizard in the breakfast served to students at the Telangana Model School in Ramayampet, Medak. The Union Education Ministry confirmed that the Department of School Education and Literacy has taken serious note of the incident.
The Telangana State Government clarified that the incident occurred in a hostel under its own breakfast scheme, not the PM POSHAN Scheme. The PM POSHAN Scheme continues to supply hot cooked midday meals, with all states and Union Territories being advised to maintain strict safety norms.
Earlier this week, three students fell ill after consuming Upma in which a lizard was found. The food was consumed by 30 to 40 students before the contamination was discovered and further servings were halted.
