NBE notifies for NEET PG exam 2023

NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBE) has released the notification for NEET PG exam 2023. This exam will be conducted on March 5. Registration for this has started from Saturday. This time only medical colleges of three states Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan will be able to appear in this examination. At the same time, students of only one private medical college LNMC from Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh will be able to take this exam.

In fact, due to the Corona epidemic, the NEET exam and results were delayed in all the states, but Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan not only conducted the exam on time, but also released the results on time. At the same time, apart from four Government Medical Colleges of Madhya Pradesh, students of one each of Bhopal and Ujjain affiliated to the Medical University and two private medical colleges of Indore will not be able to appear in this examination.

According to NBE rules, only those students who have completed one year (by March 31, 2023) internship after MBBS can appear in NEET PG exam. The MBBS exam of 2022 was delayed by two months in MP. At the same time, due to technical glitches, the result was also released in July with a delay of two months. In such a situation, the internship in the state will also be completed by July 2023. However, a private medical college managed to qualify for NEET PG 2023 by conducting the exams on time.

There are more than one lakh PG seats in the country, but students from only three states will appear in the exam. In such a situation, the students of these states will get more benefit in the examination. Whereas, the competition in NEET PG 2024 will double.

This is a hasty decision of the central government. This time more than 75 percent of the country's interns will not be able to give the NEET exam. The states should talk to the central government and demand to increase the eligibility date. Apart from this, all students should be given a chance to appear in the examination and successful students should be included in PG only after completing the internship period.
