55th edition of IFFI 2024 to begin in Goa this evening
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: The 55th edition of the International Film Festival of India IFFI will begin in Goa today. The grand event will continue till 28th of this month. The grand opening ceremony of the event will take place at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium at around five in the evening. The festivities will commence with the Red-Carpet Premiere of the Opening Film – ‘Better Man’, directed by Australian filmmaker Michael Gracy. Our correspondent reports that the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister of State, Dr L. Murugan along with the production team of the ‘Better Man’ will be in attendance at the premiere.
IFFI 2024 is set to commence in a grand manner with the opening ceremony taking place this evening in the presence of cinematic legends.It will celebrate India’s rich culture with stunning performances. A ’90s Rewind’ will bring Bollywood nostalgia, and “Timeless Souls” will honour legends like Raj Kapoor and Mohammed Rafi through visuals, poetry amd music. The ceremony will showcase the journey of Indian cinema, from the silent era to modern masterpieces, ending with a high-energy medley by Sunny Kaushal and Sanya Malhotra in the Grand Finale: The Cinematic Symphony.
The evening will feature a large number of film personalities, setting the tone for the festival. Notable creators and filmmakers such as Subhash Ghai, Dinesh Vijan, Amar Kaushik, NM Suresh, RK Selvamani, Ishari Ganeshan, and Ravi Kotarakara will be in attendance. Renowned actors including Nagarjuna, Boman Irani, Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, Jaideep Ahlawat, Randeep Hooda, Jayam Ravi, Jacky Bhagnani, Mukta Barve and Radhakrishnan Parthiban, along with lyricist Prasoon Joshi, will also be present on the occasion. With over 180 films from 81 countries, IFFI 2024 promises to be the grandest edition yet, featuring more participants and more screening venues. This year’s Festival will include the largest Film Bazaar to date, the “Creative Minds of Tomorrow” program, which will provide 100 young filmmakers with a unique platform, the inaugural IFFiesta, masterclasses, competitions, award ceremonies, and a vibrant carnival parade. This year’s IFFI is poised to be a spectacular celebration of cinema.
