Taj Mahal receives bomb threat via email

AGRA [Maha Media]: The iconic Taj Mahal in Agra received a bomb threat here on Tuesday, an officials said. The threat was sent via an email to the Tourism Department. Police sources said that the email read, 'A bomb has been planted in the Taj Mahal, which will explode at 9 am.' Police sources said that the security agencies have become active after receiving the email. The Central Industrial Security Force conducted a search in the entire Taj Mahal complex. The bomb squad was called in, and the area around the monument was also searched. It may be noted that in previous years too, there have been threats of bomb blasts in the Taj Mahal. 

To avoid a stampede among the tourists in the Taj Mahal, the security forces did not announce the exit of everyone at once. The operation was continued by using the dog and bomb squad. However, due to the police search operation, tourists were also leaving early. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) City Suraj Rai said that the threatening email is being investigated. He said that it is being ascertained who sent the email and from where. Security is already in place around the Taj Mahal. It has been made more robust. Checking is being done. No suspicious object has been kept there. ACP Taj Security Syed Areeb Ahmed said that the investigation is going on. Security agencies are deployed near the Taj Mahal.
