FM Nirmala moves Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024 in LS
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday moved the Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024 for consideration and passing in the Lok Sabha. The Finance Minister said that the bill proposes a total of 19 amendments in five banking Acts - Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, the State Bank of India Act, 1955, the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970 and the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertaking) Act, 1980, which are important to protect the interests of depositors and investors.
This bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 9th August in the monsoon Session.
