Budget for common man, says PM Modi
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]:Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the Union Budget 2025-2026 is "for the common man", with the main focus on farmers, women and the young individuals of the nation.
He made the remarks at a Cabinet meeting today ahead of Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presenting the Budget in Parliament, sources said.
"This is the budget of 'GYAN' (garib, yuva, annadaata, rani)," the Prime Minister added.
As Sitharaman presented the Budget today, she said it was "aimed at enhancing the spending power of the "rising middle class" population.
Also echoing the PM's remark, she said the top focus would also be on uplifting the poor, youth, farmers, and women. "The focus of the Budget is taking everyone together on an inclusive path," she added.
"We embark on a journey to unlock our country's immense potential. Our economy is the fastest growing among all the major economies. Confidence in India's potential has only grown."
This is Sitharaman's eighth Budget, while it is the first of the Modi 3.0 government.
According to the Finance Minister, the focus areas of Budget 2025-2026 are to accelerate growth, secure inclusive development, invigorate private sector investment, uplift household spending, and enhance the spending power of India's rising middle class.
She further outlined a vision for Viksit Bharat, focusing on zero poverty, access to 100 per cent quality education, and high-quality, affordable, and comprehensive healthcare for all.
