Congress leader favours Tejashwi as CM face of Grand Alliance

PATNA [Maha Media]: Former president of Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) Akhilesh Prasad Singh on Saturday favoured senior RJD leader Tejaswi Prasad Yadav as CM face of Grand Alliance in the next state assembly elections to be held in October-November this year.

Singh said here that Tejashwi was CM face of Grand Alliance in 2020 Bihar assembly elections. Tejashwi was leader of the opposition in Bihar assembly and he was natural choice for CM face of Grand Alliance, he noted.

" Some leaders of Congress are giving statements that CM face of Grand Alliance would be decided after next assembly elections, " former BPCC president said adding that leaders should avoid making such statements.

He was referring to Bihar in-charge of Congress Krishna Allaveru and

former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot who had recently said that CM face of Grand Alliance would be decided after next Bihar assembly elections.

" It would be suicidal for Congress to contest alone in Bihar assembly elections as party is not in a position to go solo in next state electoral battle", Singh said adding that even strong party like BJP did not contest elections alone in Bihar.

BJP had its allies like JD(U), HAM, LJP-R headed by Chirag Paswan and RLM led by Upendra Kushwaha in Bihar, he pointed out. It should be easily understood that BJP claiming itself to be largest party in world, did not contest elections alone in Bihar and how could Congress decide to go alone in electoral battle in the state, he pointed out.
