LS adopts Motion of thanks to President’s address

NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: The Lok Sabha has adopted the Motion of thanks to the President’s address to the joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament. The motion was adopted by a voice vote yesterday after the reply from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Replying to the debate in the House on Motion of Thanks, the Prime Minister highlighted his government’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the values enshrined in the Constitution. Referring to the President’s address, which extensively discussed the completion of 75 years of the Constitution, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that in addition to the articles of the Constitution, its spirit must be lived and we stand by it. He emphasized their commitment to living by, dedicating themselves to, and understanding the spirit of the Constitution. Mr Modi said, his government’s commitment to the Constitution motivates them to take strong and pro-people decisions.

The Prime Minister said, his government has taken a slew of measures for the welfare of poor people resulting in the upliftment of 25 crore people from poverty. He said it has been possible only because of this government’s commitment, dedication and hardwork. Mr Modi assured that his government is working to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat by emphasising 100 percent saturation of schemes. He termed the President’s address as inspiring which strengthens the resolve of Viksit Bharat, gives new hope and inspires people. Mr Modi asserted that his government has worked for all sections of society by understanding the pain of the poor and the aspirations of the middle class with utmost passion. 

Mr Modi said budgetary allocations for capital expenditure have witnessed massive hikes during his tenure and it has been raised to over 11 lakh 21 thousand crore rupees. He said the government has brought transparency in the governance resulting in saving of crores of rupees. He said that the three lakh crore rupees have been saved with the identification of the right beneficiaries. He said the government is working for development while adhering to fiscal prudence. He said various steps have been taken to provide tax incentives to the middle class resulting in more savings in the past ten years. He said, that recently the government has announced an income tax rebate up to 12 lakh rupees which is a major step towards strengthening the finances of the middle class.

The Prime Minister said that his government has increased the job opportunities for the youth of the country. The Prime Minister remarked that for him, AI stands for not just Artificial Intelligence but also Aspirational India. He added that his government is leveraging the power of AI to build an Aspirational India. The Prime Minister remarked that they have worked steadfastly to provide maximum opportunities for SC, ST, and OBC communities in every sector. He said the NDA government has created a separate Ministry for Tribals.  He said that it was his government that started the Ayushman Bharat for the poor and elderly.

Highlighting that for seven decades, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh were deprived of constitutional rights, the Prime Minister noted that this was an injustice to both the Constitution and the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The Prime Minister said, that by revoking Article 370, the people of these regions now receive the same rights as other citizens of the country. He emphasized that they understand and live by the spirit of the Constitution, which is why they make such strong decisions

He said that those speaking the language of Urban Naxals and against the Indian state cannot understand the constitution or unity of the country. He said that his government believes in the development and prosperity of people and does not resort to ‘poisonous politics’. He also took a dig at the alleged comments made against the President. He said. unfortunately, such remarks were made against the President. He said, women have tremendous potential in every field and if they get an opportunity, they can do wonders. He said that the government is committed to making three crore women of the country a Lakhpati Didi. He said the government is also working for the welfare of farmers by raising the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and providing financial aid under the schemes of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. He said that the government is providing financial and other support to the MSMEs for their growth. He said such decisions resulted in creation of lakhs of jobs for the youth.
