Sensex up 445.29 points
MUMBAI [Maha Media]: The BSE Sensex on Monday advanced further by 445.29 pts to close strong at 80,248.08 following gains in Consumer Durable, Realty and Commodities stocks amid strong global cues.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 144.95 pts at 24,276.05.
High volatility was witness during the session as the Sensex opened negative at 79,743.87, declining 59 pts. It was tanked 494 pts at 79,308.95, days low during the day.
In late trade, it erased earlier losses, and ended strong at 80,248.08, surging 445.29 pts from its previous close.
Meanwhile, it was rallied 535 pts, to 80,337.82, days high. The Nifty registered days high and low at 24,381.70 pts and by 24,008.65 pts respectively. The stocks that glittered were Realty by 3.16 pc, Consumer Durable by 2.26 pc, Commodities by 1.59 pc and Consumer Discretionary Goods and Services by 1.14 pc. The Mid cap rose 1.05 pc and Small cap rose by 0.84 pc. In 30 scrips, 21 advanced while 9 declined. The gainers were Ultracemco by 3.93 pc to Rs 11639.65, JSW Steel by 2.47 pc to Rs 990.05, Adani Ports by 2.18 pc to Rs 1215.60, Tech Mahindra by 1.81 pc to Rs 1742.55 and Titan by 1.73 pc to Rs 3305.60.
The losers were NTPC by 1.55 pc to Rs 558.20, Hind Unilever by 0.67 pc to Rs 2479.50, Kotak Bank by 0.67 pc to Rs 1755 and IndusInd Bank by 0.60 pc to Rs 990.45. Asian Market was also seen strong, as Strait Times was up 0.32 pc, Hang Seng by 0.65 pc and Taiwan Weighted by 2.09 pc.
