Oppn stages walkout in Lok Sabha
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: Opposition members led by Congress party on Wednesday walked out from the Lok Sabha in protest against the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi's convoy being stopped at the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border while he was enroute to Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh.
Congress member Mohammad Javed, while referring to the incident of Gandhi being stopped at the Ghaziabad border, said that his party leaders were going to Sambhal to express their sympathy with the families of the victims but were stopped by the Uttar Pradesh Police at the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border itself. Members of the Congress and other Opposition parties supported Javed. The treasury benches objected to the remarks made by the Opposition members. Amid uproar, Opposition members led by Congress Party walked out from the House. Earlier during Zero Hour, Javed demanded opening of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Kishanganj area of Bihar. After this, he raisef the issue of Rahul Gandhi being stopped by the police while going to Sambhal to visit the families of the victims. Opposition members including those from Congress, Samajwadi Party, DMK, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar), Trinamool Congress walked out from the House.
It may be mentioned that, the convoy of Rahul Gandhi who was also accompanied by Wayanad MP and his sister and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was stopped at the DelhiGhaziabad border on Wednesday.
