Rangotsav begin at Jyotirling Mahakal Temple

UJJAIN [Maha Media]:Rangotsav begins on Thursday, Falgun Purnima, at the Jyotirling Mahakal temple. Holika will be worshipped during Pradosh Kaal after the evening aarti of Lord Mahakal at 7:30 pm. After this, Holika will be burned with Vedic chanting.

On Friday at 4 am, the temple will celebrate Rangotsav during the Bhasma Aarti. The temple's priest will offer one kg of herbal gulaal to Lord Mahakal.

Temple administrator ADM Pratham Kaushik stated that Holi will be celebrated joyfully according to tradition at Mahakal temple. On Thursday evening, a traditional Holika puja and burning will take place in front of the Omkareshwar temple. Before this, there will be a special worship of Lord Mahakal during the evening aarti.

The priest will offer one kg of herbal gulaal to the Lord. After the aarti, priests and purohits will worship and burn Holika in the temple premises. There will be strict crowd control, and unnecessary visitors will not be allowed inside.

On Friday, known as Dhulendi, Rangotsav will continue with the Bhasma Aarti at 4 am. The priest will celebrate by offering another kg of gulal to Lord Mahakal. Devotees in Nandi, Ganesh, and Kartikeya Mandapam will witness the royal splendor of King Mahakal.

To maintain the dignity of the Jyotirlinga, the management committee decided that no one else will be allowed to play Holi. On Dhulendi, one kg of gulal will also be offered during Sandhya and Shayan Aarti.
