UP CS & DGP to reviews security arrangements for Maha Kumbh
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary and Director General of Police will visit Prayagraj today to review the security arrangements in Mahakumbh after yesterday’s stampede incident at Sangam Ghat.
Thirty devotees had lost their lives and 60 others were injured in the incident. The injured devotees are currently undergoing treatment at the local medical College. Our correspondent reports that the security in the Mela area has been intensified.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered judicial inquiry over the incident that occurred at Sangam Ghat in Mahakumbh, Prayagraj.
Talking to media, Mr Adityanath said that the three-member judicial commission will look
into the entire matter and submit its report to the state government. He also announced financial assistance of 25 lakh rupees each to the families of the deceased who have lost their lives in the incident.
