
Scindia inaugurates Wings India 2024 in Hyderabad
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: Wings India 2024, positioned as the largest civil aviation event in Asia, is scheduled to run for four days starting January 18. Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurates the event, focusing on commercial, general and business aviation at Begumpet airport. The biennial aviation event Wings India aims to unite business leaders and policymakers. The primary objective of the event is to highlight India’s prowess in the aviation sector and its emergence as the world’s third-largest civil aviation market.
Speaking at the inaugural session of Wings India 2024, a civil aviation conclave and exhibition here, Scindia also said the number of airports, and waterports will increase to over 200 from the existing 149 in the country.
With 300 million passengers a year in 2030, India’s aviation penetration would be at 10 to 15 per cent and still be a potential market. He noted that the domestic air passenger traffic witnessed 15 per cent growth CAGR while that of international 6.1 per cent in the last decade. In the last 15 years, domestic cargo witnessed a growth of 60 per cent international at 53 per cent. Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation General VK Singh and Telangana Minister K Venkat Reddy also spoke on the occasion.
This edition of Wings India will be showcasing an array of new-generation aircraft displays, allied aviation services, auxiliary unit industries, and advancements in the tourism sector. The Wings India 2024 is being held with the main theme ‘Connecting India with the World in Amritkal’ and will witness deliberations over the strategies and strategic framework for the future Aviation Sector of the country.
The four-day Wings India 2024 will bring together various stakeholders and participants from all over the world from the aviation industry to promote collaboration, showcase innovations, and explore business opportunities. The deliberations at the ministerial level and CEOs conference besides round tables and panel discussions will help chart out actions that align with national aspirations, fostering connectivity, growth, and innovation in the aviation sector till the year 2047.
The best of the aviation industry will be showcasing their innovative aviation technology and aircraft machinery at the event. Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. will be showcasing its indigenous civil platforms like the Hindustan-228 aircraft and the upgraded civil helicopter Dhruv in the exhibition. Air India will unveil its Airbus A350, the first aircraft of its kind in the country while Boeing 777-9 will be on display for the first time in the country. Besides the mesmerizing aerobatic display by the Sarang team of the Indian Air Force, over 25 aircraft of different sizes will be on display for the spectacular view at the venue.
About 1500 delegates from over 100 countries and about five thousand business representatives are expected to participate. Over one lakh visitors are likely to take part in the event. About 500 Business to Business meetings are also scheduled to be held during the event. Besides, 130 exhibitors and 15 Hospitality Chalets from across the globe are also taking part. The event will continue till the 21st of this month.
