We are at war with terrorists: Vinay Kwatra
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: India is at war with the terrorists and will bring justice to victims of the Pahalgam attack by holding the “lowlifes, subhuman monsters” accountable, Indian Ambassador to the US Vinay Kwatra has said, underscoring that in no world would these terrorists be allowed a free pass.
“The frame and the template in which we look at is the terror template. April 22 was the most heinous terrorist act," Kwatra said in an interview to CNN on Thursday.
"It is nobody's case to say that these terrorists should be given a free pass, and that's precisely what we did day before yesterday, held them accountable, brought them to justice,” Kwatra said.
He noted that the April 22 Pahalgam attack was the original escalation when four Pak-backed terrorists carried out brutal killings of 26 civilians.
“They killed them in front of their wives and children, and they did so on the basis of religion. What we did a day before yesterday (Operation Sindoor) was our response to terror,” he said.
India’s response was measured and calibrated as it took out terror factories at nine locations.
“We were very careful in keeping targets only to those people and their backers who carried out these dastardly killings,” he said.
He also asserted that the “entire Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India", adding "the only issue is the return of the part occupied by Pakistan, which is Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.”
Speaking about Pakistan’s unprovoked firing and targeting of Indian cities, the Indian envoy to US said it shows Pakistan stands with terrorists.
“Rather than taking actions, they are providing support,” he said.
Speaking about Pakistan’s denial, he said it has always been a part of their strategy as he mentioned the 9/11 attacks, 26/11 Mumbai attacks and other Pakistan-backed attacks.
When asked if there is a war between India and Pakistan, he said, “We are at war with terrorists.”
Further, he said, “World should be concerned about Pakistan’s support of terrorists for the last three decades,” he added.
The latest attack by Pakistan comes a day after the Indian Armed Forces on Wednesday launched 'Operation Sindoor', carrying out precision strikes on nine terrorist camps in response to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people on April 22.
Just hours later, India foiled Pakistan's attempt to target 15 cities and shot down its drones and missiles. In response, India's armed forces targeted multiple Air Defence Radars and systems across Pakistan
