3 suspected terrorists spotted in J&K's Udhampur
UDHAMPUR [Maha Media]: Three suspected terrorists were spotted in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Friday, after which security forces launched a high-level search operation. According to initial information, the trio took food from a local resident in Chilla Balota village and then fled towards the nearby forest.
As soon as the information was received, the Army and J&K Police cordoned off the entire area and began a search operation in the dense forests of Basantgarh. Drones and sniffer dogs have also been deployed for the search. The hilly terrain and thick forest cover are making the operation difficult.
Security forces are conducting door-to-door searches, and additional personnel have been deployed. Multiple checkpoints have been set up on possible escape routes to ensure that none of the suspects can slip away. Locals have been urged to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to the police immediately.
Since the Delhi blast on 10 November, security forces have been carrying out continuous search operations in Jammu and Kashmir. Possible terror links are being investigated. On Friday as well, police raided several locations linked to the banned terrorist organisation Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI).
