National outpouring of support for 'Operation Sindoor'
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: On Wednesday, a wave of solidarity swept across India as political leaders, spiritual figures, and citizens expressed their support for the Indian Armed Forces' punitive action against terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir under Operation Sindoor, in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack.
Tributes and patriotic affirmations flooded social media, marking a rare moment of cross-party unity and widespread support for the armed forces.
Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh led the chorus with a brief but impactful statement: "Bharat Mata Ki Jai!" in the early hours of Wednesday after the Indian Armed Forces carried out missile strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The Indian Army stated in a post: "Justice is Served. Jai Hind."
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar wrote on X: "The world must show zero tolerance for terrorism," accompanied by the hashtag #OperationSindoor.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed, "Proud of our Armed Forces. Jai Hind!" His message was echoed by similar expressions of support from other Congress leaders at the state level.
Congress leader Shashi Tharoor posted: "A set of calibrated, calculated, precise strikes against terror targets. Exactly what I had advocated last week: hit hard, hit smart. I applaud the government and stand solidly with our armed forces. At the same time, we have behaved in a manner that would not justify further escalation of the conflict. We have made our point and acted in self-defense. It is time for all concerned to act wisely to prevent uncontrolled escalation. Jai Hind!"
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan posted in Hindi: "Jai Bharat Mata! Jai Hind Ki Sena!"
From various state capitals, chief ministers and senior leaders joined the show of support.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared, "Jai Hind! Jai Hind Ki Sena!"
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis both posted "Jai Hind! Operation Sindoor," while Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar described the response as "a befitting reply to the cowardly Pahalgam terror attack." He added, "We stand with the government, we stand with our security forces. Jai Hind."
Spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev was among the first to react, posting, "Wishing Our Forces Safety and Success. Blessings. –Sg Operation Sindoor."
BJP national general secretary C.T. Ravi invoked verses from the Bhagavad Gita, quoting Lord Krishna’s pledge to uphold righteousness during times of moral decline: “Yada yada hi dharmasya glanir bhavati Bharata… Dharma-sansthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge.”
Ravi added, "These lines remind us that in every age, the wicked are destroyed, and Dharma is restored. Bharat Mata Ki Jai. Vande Mataram. #OperationSindoor."
The outpouring of public and political support reflected a larger patriotic sentiment across the country. While the full details of Operation Sindoor remain classified, the unified response from the political and social spectrum underscored the nation's resolve against terrorism.
