CM Chouhan flags off trial run of Bhopal Metro train

BHOPAL [Maha Media]: In an exciting development, the  Orange Line Bhopal Metro successfully completed its final trial run on Tuesday. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated the trial at the Subhash Nagar Depot and waved the green flag, marking a significant milestone in the city's transportation history. Adding a traditional touch, CM Chouhan performed Kanya Pujan. He also took a ride in the coach from Subhashnagar to Rani Kamalapati station.

On this occasion, Subhash Nagar and Rani Kamalapati (RKMP) Metro stations were decorated with beautiful glimpses. 

The launch witnessed the presence of several corporators, along with Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai.

The final trial run of Indore Metro was done two days ago. 

Recalling the old days, Shivraj said, "I used to travel with 'Tanga', 'Bhat Suar' in Bhopal. From autos to city buses, I have seen Bhopal's diverse modes of transportation evolve over the years. Today, as we inaugurate the Bhopal Metro, it marks a remarkable journey from those days to a modern and efficient transportation system." said CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Subhash Nagar Depot. 

CM Chouhan emphasized the affordability of the Metro for people from all walks of life, offering a more cost-effective alternative than traditional modes of transportation. 

Chouhan praised the efforts of the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MPMRCL) and highlighted the progress achieved in a short span of time. He underlined that while the previous government had stalled the project, his government took decisive action to push it forward

Bhopal Metro is set to extend its reach with the laying of 31 km of tracks. With a trial run completed in a period of just 18 months, the Bhopal Metro is poised to benefit over 7 lakh passengers. The washrooms at metro stations are equipped with world-class amenities catering to the needs of male, female, transgender and people with special abilities.

People arrived in large numbers to witness the green flag ceremony at Subhash Nagar Depot.
