NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: The new moon day of Vaishakh month is starting today and will end tomorrow, April 20. The Vaishakh Amavasya tithi begins at 11:23 am on April 19, and ends at 09:41 am on April 20.

On Thursday, we will witness the first solar eclipse of the year. However, this eclipse will not be visible in India, so there will be no sutak of the sclipse in the country. Therefore, all auspicious works related to Vaishakh Amavasya can be done throughout the day.

The duration of the eclipse will be from 7.04 am to 12.29 pm IST. The solar eclipse on April 20, 2023, will only be a partial eclipse visible from the areas in Sydney, Australia.

Due to this the auspiciousness of the festival will increase greatly. On this day, along with Shani Dev, Shivji and our ancestors will be worshipped. On Vaishakh Amavasya there is also a tradition of donating essential things to the needy people.

According to astrology this time auspicious yoga's named Kedar, Sarvarthasiddhi, Budhaditya and Manas are being formed on Vaishakh Amavasya. The four planets Sun, Guru, Venus and Saturn, will remain in their own zodiac signs. Due to the auspicious position of the stars, the fruits of the auspicious works done on this festival will increase several fold.

Today, Sarvarthasiddhi Yoga is being formed from Tithi, Vaar and Nakshatra. This yoga is said to be very auspicious for making all kinds of purchases. Due to this auspicious yoga, it is also believed that making any kind of new beginning, like starting a new job or starting a new business will prove to be very successful. At the same time, the position of other planets will also increase the auspiciousness of the moment and also positively affect the results of the work done on this day.

Amavasya is a very auspicious date for placating and praying for our ancestors.

It is believed that on Amavasya Tithi, the ancestral deity of the family resides at the door of the house in the form of Vayu. Due to this belief, sun-meditation is done for the ancestors in the afternoon on Amavasya.
