UNSC, other global bodies need reforms: Guterres
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned world leaders about the world moving towards a dangerous point with escalating conflicts. He called for reforming international institutions, including the Security Council, to address ongoing wars, the nuclear threat, global inequality, and climate change.
Guterres emphasized the need for effective international problem-solving mechanisms and highlighted the lack of representation for Africa in the Security Council.
He acknowledged the obstacles to reform and called for a just peace based on the UN Charter, international law, and UN resolutions.
