SRINAGAR [Maha Media]: Three persons were injured in a mysterious blast in Jammu and Kashmir’s Handwara sub-district on Monday, officials said.
According to officials, the explosion occurred while residents of Kachri Langate were demolishing an old mosque to pave the way for the construction of a new one.
“While clearing the debris, a suspicious object exploded, injuring three individuals,” an official said.
The injured have been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Mir, Ghulam Ahmad Tantray, and Owais Ahmad Lone — all residents of different villages in Handwara.
“All the injured were initially shifted to the Sub-District Hospital Langate. One among them was later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara for specialized treatment,” the official added.
Following the incident, senior police officers rushed to the site to ascertain the nature and source of the blast.
