DMRC to draft Metro Rail corridor DPRs in Madhya Pradesh
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has been tasked with preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for two metro rail corridors from Indore to Ujjain and Pithampur in Madhya Pradesh. This project will span 84 km and provide crucial metro rail services across these routes.
According to an official release, the DPR will connect key areas including the Shri Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain to Lavkush Chauraha in Indore as part of the first phase of the project.
The Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited has issued a formal letter concerning this project, following a previous announcement by the state government. The goal is to have the metro rail operational by Simhastha, a major Hindu congregation, in 2028.
The first phase trial run of the Bhopal metro rail was completed in October last year, and work is currently underway on a 31 km-long metro line in Indore.
