ED demands CBI investigation in 17 offences against Mamata

NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the Mamata Banerjee government on Monday. In this petition, ED has demanded a CBI investigation into 17 offenses relating to the raid on the house and office of TMC's IT head and Political Consultant firm (I-PAC) Director Prateek Jain.

The ED alleges that on January 8, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, DGP, and Kolkata Police Commissioner obstructed the raid, tampered with evidence, and snatched important documents. Additionally, the organisation has also claimed that ED officials were threatened.

The ED told the Supreme Court that all electronic records, storage media, and documents illegally and forcibly taken during the search should be seized and sealed.

The ED had also accused the Chief Minister and top police officials of committing 17 offenses, which include serious charges such as robbery, looting, and theft, along with obstructing officials engaged in government work, concealing or destroying evidence, and threatening.
