7th Edition of ‘Vishwarang’ Festival Set to Bloom in Bhopal from Nov 27
BHOPAL (Maha Media): The 7th Edition of the Tagore International Literature and Arts Festival, ‘Vishwarang,’ is set to take place in Bhopal from November 27th to 30th at Ravindra Bhavan.
Initiated by Rabindranath Tagore University and the Vishwarang Foundation, this event is highlighted as Asia’s largest non-governmental cultural gathering.
Key Highlights:-
Global Participation: Representatives from over 65 countries and eminent Indian thinkers will participate in more than 80 sessions of dialogue and artistic expression.
Inauguration: The festival will be inaugurated on November 27th at 6 PM following a cultural procession. The Hon’ble Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Mangubhai Patel, and former President of Mauritius, Mr. Prithvirajsing Roopan, will be special guests.
Eminent Personalities: Over 1,000 participants, including writers, educationists, scientists, and media figures like Faisal Malik, Divya Dutta, Swanand Kirkire, and Devdutt Pattanaik, will attend.
Cultural Showcase:
Opening performance: Shri Krishna Leela by Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts.
Closing performance: The play Ahilya Rupen Sthita on Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar’s life.
Special Segments: The ‘Aadirang’ Tribal Segment will showcase traditional crafts, folk dances, and heritage films. An exhibition titled ‘Coolie Se Kulin Tak’ will trace the journey of Indians in indentured nations.
Vishwarang Honorary Awards: Six distinguished personalities, including Smt. Mamta Kalia (Hindi) and Shri. Laxman Gaikwad (Marathi), will be honored for their contributions to Indian languages.
Culinary Delights: A 'feast of traditional delicacies' featuring Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, and Nimari cuisines will be available.
Closing Ceremony: The formal closing is on November 29th at 6 PM. Shri Prithvirajsing Roopan and former Union Education Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank will preside, and winners of the World Hindi Olympiad will be awarded.
