MP: 87 prisoners in State to be released early
BHOPAL [Maha Media]: In a move that coincides with the celebrations of Republic Day on January 26, the Madhya Pradesh Jail Department has announced the early release of 87 prisoners from jails across the State. Exercising powers under the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, and the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023, the State Government reviewed the cases of 481 prisoners to determine eligibility for early release.
Following careful examination, 87 prisoners were found eligible and will be released under specific conditions as directed by the Jail Department. Through this step, the commitment of rehabilitation and re-integration of prisoners into society will be performed while marking the significance of Republic Day. Authorities have ensured that the early release process will be carried out in accordance with the law, maintaining transparency and fairness in line with established legal procedures.
