MP: Bhopal to see heavy showers

BHOPAL [Maha Media]: The IMD has issued orange alerts for heavy to very heavy rainfall across regions like Gwalior-Chambal, Rewa, Sagar, Mandla, Dindori, Katni, Panna and Chhatarpur, urging residents to stay cautious. Madhya Pradesh is expected to witness widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds on Thursday and over the coming days, as per the latest advisory from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). A strong monsoon trough and an active low-pressure system are driving this intense weather activity across both eastern and western parts of the State. 

In the morning hours, moderate rain with lightning is likely to occur over North Balaghat, Mandla/Kanha, and East Dindori, while light rain may occur in Sheopur Kalan, Shivpuri, North Ashoknagar, Sidhi, Singrauli, Shahdol, Seoni, Anuppur/Amarkantak, and South Balaghat. As the day progresses, moderate to heavy rain with lightning is predicted in several districts including Sheopur Kalan/Kuno NP, Gwalior, Datia, Shivpuri, Niwari/Orchha, Jabalpur, Mandla, Dindori, Rewa, Umaria, Katni, and Chhatarpur. Additional areas such as Bhind, Morena, Bhopal, Betul, Sagar, Raisen, Vidisha, and Sehore will see light rain with lightning. 

Wind speeds during thunderstorms have reached up to 44 kmph in Ujjain, with gusts between 30–39 kmph reported in Shajapur, Indore, Harda, Sehore, Pachmarhi, and Narsingpur. 

In Bhopal, today’s weather is cloudy with temperatures ranging between 24°C to 29°C. Light rain and drizzle are expected through Friday, while Saturday
