Arunachal: 22 killed as truck falls into gorge

TINSUKIA/DIBRUGARH (ASSAM) [Maha Media]: A truck fell into a gorge, in which 22 labourers have been reported dead. The accident occurred in the Hayuliang area of Anjaw district, Arunachal Pradesh.

According to a local source, around 25 people were traveling in this truck, which was traveling on the Hayuliang–Chaglagam Road.

A truck carrying laborers from Tinsukia, Assam, went out of control and fell into a gorge about 1000 feet deep. The laborers were going for construction work in Hayuliang.

All of them are residents of Gelapukhuri Tea Estate in Assam. According to information so far, 13 bodies have been recovered. One person is injured.

"Around 11 am today, we received information that a vehicle had fallen into a gorge in Arunachal Pradesh's Anjaw district. Accordingly, we contacted the DCs of Anjaw and Teju for confirmation," he added.
