PM Modi hoists Dharma Dhwaj atop Ram Temple in Ayodhya

NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: Nearly 673 days after the Pran Pratishtha of Ramlalla, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Ayodhya and hoisted the 2-kg saffron Dharma flag atop the 161-feet Shikhar of the Ram Temple during the Abhijit Muhurat.

After landing at Ayodhya Airport, PM Modi flew by Army helicopter to Saket College and held a 1.5 km roadshow to Ram Janmabhoomi, where schoolchildren showered flowers and women welcomed him along the route.

At the temple, PM Modi offered prayers at Saptmandir and inspected the water reservoir.

Around 7,000 attendees are present for the ceremony, with the city decorated using 1,000 quintals of flowers.

The specially designed flag—visible from 4 km away—can withstand major storms and has a gold-plated staff weighing 21 kg.

Dhwajarohan programme is taking place on the auspicious Panchami of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Margashirsha, coinciding with the Abhijit Muhurat of Shri Ram and Maa Sita’s Vivah Panchami. This date also marks the martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru, who meditated in Ayodhya for 48 uninterrupted hours in the 17th century. The right-angled triangular flag, measuring ten feet in height and twenty feet in length, bears the image of a radiant Sun symbolising the brilliance and valour of Bhagwan Shri Ram,  with an ‘Om’ inscribed on it along with the image of the Kovidara tree.
