Do-or-die match for Pakistan against Sri Lanka
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: Pakistan will play a do-or-die match in the T20 World Cup today. The team will face Sri Lanka. This match, to be held at Pallekele Cricket Stadium in Kandy on Saturday, will decide whether Pakistan reaches the semi-finals or if the Kiwis get entry into the top-4. The match will start at 7 PM, while the toss is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
Actually, England defeated New Zealand by 4 wickets on Friday night. This keeps Pakistan's hopes alive. Now, Pakistan will have to achieve a victory of 64 plus runs against Sri Lanka. If Pakistan bats second, they will have to achieve the target in 13.1 overs.
So far, 29 T20 International matches have been played between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Pakistan won 17 and Sri Lanka won 12. The two teams last met in 2026 at the Dambulla ground, when Sri Lanka won the match by 14 runs.
