NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: Ireland beat Oman by 96 runs. For Oman, Amir Kaleem scored 50 while Hammad Mirza made 46, but there was no other significant contribution as they were bowled out for 139. Earlier, a terrific display of power-hitting by Lorcan Tucker took Ireland to 235-5. Ireland were struggling at 66-4 before Tucker and Gareth Delany added 101 run partnership. Delany was out for 56, but Tucker carried on to make 94 not out in 56 balls. George Dockrell was brutal in death overs and made 35 in 9 balls to take Ireland to a match-winning total.
Earlier, United States of America defeated Netherlands by 93 runs in the Group A clash at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, yesterday.
While in another match United Arab Emirates defeated Canada by 5 wickets in Delhi, and Zimbabwe outclassed Australia by 23 runs in a thrilling encounter in Colombo.
