EU expresses solidarity with India on Pahalgam attack anniversary

NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: The European Union on Wednesday expressed solidarity with India on the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack, reiterating its condemnation of terrorism in all its forms.

In an official statement, the EU said, “On the commemoration day of the heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the European Union and its 27 member states stand in solidarity with the people of India in remembrance of the innocent victims murdered one year ago.”

“Together with their families and the Indian authorities, we honour their memory. We reiterate our outright condemnation of terrorism in all its forms, which can never be justified,” it added.

The attack, carried out on April 22, 2025, by The Resistance Front — an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba — saw terrorists open fire on tourists after identifying their religion, in one of the most brutal civilian-targeted incidents in recent years.

Among those killed were 25 tourists and a local pony ride operator who attempted to save them.

In response to the Pahalgam terror attack, Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor on the intervening night of May 6–7, 2025. The well-coordinated strikes carried out by the Indian Armed Forces precisely hit nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), killing over 100 terrorists, their trainers, handlers, and associates. Most of the terrorists belonged to organisations such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen. The operation inflicted maximum damage on terrorist infrastructure while minimising harm to the civilian population.
