Putin warns Trump against lecturing India and China

NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: Russian President Vladimir Putin has told former US President Donald Trump that he cannot speak to India or China in such a manner. He urged the United States to stop threatening these countries with higher tariffs and sanctions, adding that neither nation would be intimidated.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday after attending China’s Victory Day parade, Putin said,

The warning comes amid repeated accusations by Trump that India is indirectly aiding Russia in its war in Ukraine by continuing to purchase Russian oil. Trump has described his tariff policies as a tool to resolve conflicts.

On Wednesday, speaking on The Scott Jennings Radio Show, Trump claimed that tariffs give the US leverage, calling them a “magical weapon” and asserting that through such policies he has prevented seven wars.

Putin described US President as a person with a conservative mindset and criticised America’s approach towards India and China. Speaking after attending China’s Victory Day Parade, Putin said the history of India and China is filled with attacks, and any perceived weakness by their leaders could end their political careers.

He described America’s attitude as outdated and conservative, adding, “The colonial era is now over. America must understand that it cannot speak to its partners in such a language.” Despite his criticism, Putin expressed hope that tensions will ease in the future and normal political dialogue will resume. His remarks come as India faces US tariffs for buying Russian oil and China remains embroiled in a trade war with the United States.
