Trump directs his special envoy Witkoff to meet Putin

NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that his special envoy, Steve Witkoff, will travel to Moscow next week to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin and that Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, may accompany him.

Meanwhile, Trump said, Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll will meet the Ukrainian side in the hope of finalising this peace plan.

Trump also hinted about his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and President Vladimir Putin in near future. However, Trump said he will only meet when the deal to end the war is final or in its final stages.

He also informed that his team has made massive progress vis a vis ending the Russia-Ukraine war.

The Trump administration has drafted a new 28-point plan to end the Ukraine war, offering significant concessions to Russia.

A preliminary version proposes that Ukraine surrender some territory to Russia, abandon its bid for NATO membership, and reduce its military strength.

US officials noted that the proposal is still under revision and that any final deal would demand compromises from both Russia and Ukraine.

In Truth Social Post, Trump wrote, “Last month 25,000 soldiers died. The original 28-Point Peace Plan, which was drafted by the United States, has been fine-tuned, with additional input from both sides, and there are only a few remaining points of disagreement.”

Progress is being made on a draft peace proposal to end the war, but a Ukrainian source says several major issues are still unresolved.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has previously warned that Moscow may reject a revised US peace plan if its terms differ substantially from the understandings reached at the Trump–Putin summit in Alaska a few months earlier.

President Trump also claimed that if he were the President of the US in 2022, the Ukraine war would have never started.
