Air India to resume regular flights to Jeddah from today

NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: Air India, the Tata Group-owned airline, will resume regular flights to Jeddah from Thursday (tomorrow).

An airline spokesperson said today that starting March 5, Air India will operate regular services to Jeddah, while all its flights to other cities in West Asia will remain suspended for the time being.

On Thursday, the airline will operate three flights to Jeddah-one from Delhi and two from Mumbai.

In addition, the airline will operate an extra flight between Mumbai and Dubai to evacuate stranded passengers. A Boeing 777 aircraft, with a seating capacity of approximately 350 passengers, will be deployed for this additional service.

The statement said that Air India is closely monitoring the situation in West Asia and has started operating a limited number of flights from Dubai and Jeddah to bring people back. After carefully reviewing the situation, the airline has decided to resume regular flights from Jeddah starting Thursday.

Earlier, the airline had announced the resumption of its regular flights from North America, the United Kingdom, and Europe. It had also announced additional flights to Toronto, Frankfurt, and Paris based on rising demand.

Air India had stated that it would operate three additional flights from Delhi to Toronto between March 5 and March 11, and three additional flights from Delhi to Frankfurt between March 7 and March 10. Additionally, an extra flight from Delhi to Paris will be operated on March 8.
