
BJP releases 1st list of 71 candidates for Bihar polls
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday announced its first list of 71 candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections. Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha will contest from Tarapur and Lakhisarai, respectively, while Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav has been denied a ticket.
Other ministers who have received tickets include Mangal Pandey, Nitish Mishra, Neeraj Kumar Bablu, Jivesh Mishra, Raju Singh, Krishna Kumar Mantu, Surendra Mehta, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Sanjay Sarawagi, and Dr. Prem Kumar.
The list features nine women candidates: Renu Devi (Bettiah), Gayatri Devi (Parihar), Devanti Yadav (Narpatganj), Sweety Singh (Kishanganj), Nisha Singh (Pranpur), Kavita Devi (Koira), Rama Nishad (Aurai), Aruna Devi (Warisliganj), and Shreyasi Singh (Jamui).
This year, the BJP is contesting 101 seats in Bihar. Voting is scheduled in two phases on November 9 and 11, with results to be declared on November 14.
Additionally, it has been eight days since the Bihar Assembly elections were announced, but seat-sharing between the NDA and the Grand Alliance has not been finalised.
It is being reported that a joint NDA press conference may be held this evening. Meanwhile, the Grand Alliance is also facing a deadlock.
