MP: Rain alert in over 30 districts
INDORE [Maha Media]: THE spell of rain in Madhya Pradesh is likely to continue for the next two days due to the activation of a Low-Pressure Area (LPA) and a Cyclonic Circulation. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for light rain, drizzle, and thunderstorms in over 30 districts of the state, including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and Gwalior.
Senior Meteorologist Dr Divya E. Surendran stated that the effect of these weather systems, which became active in the northeastern region, will persist until Monday and Tuesday. Consequently, the Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Narmadapuram, Gwalior, Sagar, and Jabalpur divisions will remain cloudy, with some areas likely to experience drizzle.
Before the system’s activation, most parts of the state experienced sunny conditions on Sunday, leading to a marginal rise of 1 to 2.9°C in daytime temperatures. Bhopal recorded a maximum of 31.1°C, while Indore registered 30.1°C. According to the IMD, Madhya Pradesh recorded 121% above-average rainfall in October, breaking a 25-year record.
