PM Modi greets nation on Bhai Dooj
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended greetings to citizens on the occasion of Bhai Dooj.
“Heartfelt wishes to all of you on the occasion of Bhai Dooj. May this festival, symbolizing the mutual love and trust between brother and sister, bring happiness, prosperity, and good fortune into everyone's life,” the prime minister said in a post on X.
“I wish that the bond of this relationship will gain renewed strength,” Modi said.
Bhai Dooj, observed on the second day of the Shukla Paksha in the Hindu month of Kartika, marks the conclusion of the vibrant Diwali festivities. Across India, the festival is celebrated with devotion and joy as sisters apply a ceremonial tilak on their brothers’ foreheads, praying for their well-being and longevity. In return, brothers offer gifts as tokens of affection and gratitude.
The festival beautifully underscores the sacred nature of the sibling relationship, reminding everyone of the importance of nurturing and valuing these familial ties.
