Union Ministers hail India-US trade agreement

NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar today said the framework for an Interim Agreement will realise a mutually beneficial India – US trade partnership. 

In a social media post, Dr Jaishankar said the framework will ensure greater market access and opportunities for Indian exporters. He added that new vistas have opened up that will further promote Make in India. 

Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh described the India-US Interim Trade Agreement as a landmark framework representing a strategic milestone in India’s economic journey.

In a social media post, Mr Singh said that the deal will significantly expand export opportunities, strengthen labour-intensive sectors, attract high-quality investments and create large-scale employment.

The Defence Minister noted that the country’s farmers and agriculture have been safeguarded through this agreement. He also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his tireless efforts in unlocking the historic avenues for growth, employment and long-term economic empowerment.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that the Interim Trade Agreement framework between India and the United States marks a significant milestone in strengthening the strategic and economic partnership of both nations.

In a social media post, Mr Gadkari said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump, the framework reflects deepening trust and shared ambition.

The Minister said that the framework will create new avenues for India’s farmers, entrepreneurs, MSMEs, startups, and the fisheries sector, while generating large-scale employment, especially for women and youth.

He added that the agreement will further reinforce resilient and trusted supply chains, by promoting innovation, investment, and technology collaboration.

Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia today said that the India-US Interim Trade Agreement framework marks a major step in translating global engagement into real opportunities for India’s people.

In a social media post, Mr Scindia said this framework reflects a commitment to growth that is inclusive, future-oriented and rooted in the aspirations of the country’s people, advancing towards building a Viksit Bharat.

Highlighting the key outcomes of this agreement, the Minister said that this framework will open the path for new export avenues for farmers, fishermen, artisans, MSMEs and startups. He added that it will also provide a strong boost to Make in India across textiles, leather, handicrafts, chemicals and engineering goods.

Mr Scindia also noted that the framework will also encourage large-scale job creation for women and youth through export-led growth. He said that the agreement will provide full protection to sensitive agricultural and dairy products as well as advance global integration of MSMEs into trusted supply chains.

BJP President Nitin Nabin today said that India-US economic engagement has taken a decisive step forward with the framework for an Interim Trade Agreement. Hailing the agreement, Mr Nabin noted that this partnership is expected to unlock greater market access, attract investment and generate large-scale employment opportunities, particularly for India’s youth.

He added that farmers, MSMEs, innovative entrepreneurs, exporters, and the blue economy will benefit from smoother trade flows, resilient supply chains and deeper technology collaboration. Mr Nabin further said that such future-oriented global partnerships reinforce the nation’s position as a reliable growth engine globally.

Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has hailed the India-US trade interim trade agreement, saying that it provides full protection to Indian farmers.

In a social media post, Mr Chouhan highlighted that farmers have been secured in productions such as dairy products, grains and vegetables. He added that the interest of farmers is of paramount importance.

Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth described the India-US trade agreement as farmer-friendly, saying it has strengthened farmers’ income, food security and the rural economy. He said sensitive sectors such as agriculture, dairy, vegetables, cereals and pulses have been fully protected under the agreement, with no concessions given.

According to Seth, the reduction of non-tariff barriers will benefit Indian agricultural exporters and boost exports of organic and processed food. He added that the balanced agreement will also strengthen rural MSMEs, employment and India’s overall exports.

Union Minister Annapurna Devi said that dairy, fruits, vegetables, spices and other key agricultural products have been fully protected under the India-US trade agreement. She said the balanced arrangement will safeguard farmers’ interests, provide better global market access to local agriculture and strengthen the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said that the interim trade agreement between India and USA is anchored in the shared commitment of the two great nations towards a glorious future under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump.

In a social media post, the Minister said that the agreement will further strengthen the Make in India initiative and open up vast opportunities for the country’s farmers, entrepreneurs, MSMEs, StartUp innovators, fishermen, among others.

He added that it will also generate large-scale direct and indirect employment opportunities, particularly for country’s youth. Mr Puri said, this framework reflects the commitment towards promoting innovation and will further deepen investment and technology partnerships between India and the USA.
