
5th Test: India cross 100 run mark
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: The fifth and final Test at The Oval between India and England in the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy was delayed multiple times on Day 1 and Day 2. However, bowlers outshone the batters on Day 2 with combined 15 wickets (well, 16 in total since England was one player down due to the absence of Chris Woakes).
On the second day of the Oval Test, India ended their second innings at 75/2, extending their overall lead to 52 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal stood firm with an unbeaten 51 runs, while Akash Deep remained not out on 4. The third day’s play will resume on Saturday at 3:30 PM IST, promising another thrilling battle ahead.
Earlier on Friday, England posted 247 runs in their first innings, taking a 23-run lead over India’s first-innings total of 224. Zak Crawley top-scored for England with 64 runs, while Harry Brook added 53 runs. For India, pacers Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj were the stars, picking up four wickets each to restrict England’s lead.
