China showcased more than 100 weapons during Victory Day Parade

NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: China is celebrating its 80th Victory Day today. On this occasion, the country's largest military parade was organised in the capital, Beijing.

The parade included over 100 weapons, over 45 military units, and over 100 aircraft. Many of these weapons were showcased to the world for the first time during the parade.

The special thing about these weapons is that most of them are indigenous. Xi Jinping said in his speech that these weapons and aircraft demonstrate China's military strength and improved technology.

1. China introduced the new Type 99B Main Battle Tank

China introduced the Type 99B Main Battle Tank in its Victory Day parade. This is the latest third-generation tank of the Type 99 series.

This is considered to be an updated version of Type 99B. It has been inducted into the PLA since 2001. More than 1300 Type 99 and 99A tanks have been manufactured so far.

2. China's Multiple Rocket Launcher System PHL-16
China showcased the PHL-16 multiple rocket launcher in its Victory Day parade. It is also known as PCL-191. It was developed to counter America's High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS).

Taiwan purchased and deployed it from the United States in 2023. PHL-16 is manufactured by Norinco and is China's best rocket launcher system. PHL-16 was first displayed at the National Day parade in 2019.

3. Underwater AJX002 Drone
For the first time in the parade, China's two Extra Large Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (XLUUV) were displayed.

The second drone is almost the same in length, but it is wider, approximately 2 to 3 meters. Its name and image have not been revealed yet.

It has two masts, while AJX002 has no masts. Analysts believe these could be equipped with torpedoes or mines, or they could just be used for surveillance (reconnaissance).

It has X-shaped rudders and two masts, which makes it different from AJX002. China's XLUUV program is the largest in the world, with at least five types of drones already in testing.

4. New missiles introduced to challenge American missiles
YJ-15, YJ-17, YJ-19, and YJ-20 missiles were introduced for the first time in China's Victory Day parade.

These missiles are advanced weapon systems that enhance China's naval power, specifically designed to attack ships.

These missiles will serve as a challenge to the US Navy and its allies in the Taiwan Strait and South China Sea.

5. HQ-29 is capable of countering ballistic missiles
China has introduced its anti-ballistic missile (ABM) system, HQ-29 for the first time. It is considered to be the top tier of China's three-tier missile defense system.

It is an advanced ballistic missile defense (BMD) and anti-satellite (ASAT) weapons system, which was seen in a video leaked on Chinese social media.

6. Carrier Based Aircraft
Four types of carrier-based aircraft were displayed in China's Victory Day parade. The J-15T, J-15DH, J-15DT and J-35 have been fully developed by China using indigenous technology.

These are carrier-based fighter jets developed for China's navy (PLAN), which enhance the capabilities of their aircraft carriers like Liaoning, Shandong, and Fujian

7. CJ-1000 capable of destroying strong bunkers
The CJ-1000 long-range hypersonic cruise missile was displayed in China's Victory Day parade. It is also known as DF-1000.

Range: CJ-1000's range is between 2,000 to 4,000 kilometers.

Target: It can precisely strike ground-based installations, strong bunkers, underground facilities and moving warships.

Launch Platform: It can be launched in pairs of two missiles from a 10x10 Transporter Erector Launcher (TEL) vehicle. It can also be launched from the H-6K bomber.

8. DF-26D Guam Killer Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile
The DF-26D Killer Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile was first seen during the rehearsal of China's 80th Victory Day parade. Not much public information was available about it

This is a new member of the DF-26 missile family, specifically designed to target US military bases in the Pacific region, particularly Guam, and naval targets such as aircraft carriers.

America has developed a 360-degree integrated missile defense system in Guam, which includes THAAD, Patriot, and Indirect Fire Protection Capability (IFPC).
