Pakistan Army Chief to visit US this week

NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, will travel to the United States this week to attend the appointment ceremony of the new head of US Central Command (CENTCOM).

This will mark Munir’s second US visit in two months, underscoring deepening military and diplomatic engagement between Islamabad and Washington.

Munir previously attended the 250th anniversary of the US Army in Washington, DC, on June 14. During that trip, he held a two-hour private lunch meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House.

The meeting, which remained behind closed doors, was the first time a US President had hosted a Pakistani Army Chief.

According to sources, Munir credited Trump for defusing Indo-Pak tensions in May and has even nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in regional stability.
