Qatar may host Pak, Afghan talks on ceasefire

NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: Afghanistan and Pakistan are expected to hold talks soon in Doha, Qatar, according to Afghan news outlet TOLO News, citing government sources.

An Afghan delegation, led by Defence Minister Maulvi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, will travel to Doha to negotiate with Pakistani officials. Discussions may include extending the recently agreed-upon ceasefire.

The Pakistani delegation is likely to feature senior security and intelligence officials. Neither government has officially confirmed the date or agenda of the talks.

The announcement comes after a week-long conflict between the two countries, which ended with a 48-hour ceasefire agreement on Wednesday evening. The ceasefire is set to expire later today.

Pakistan conducted an airstrike in the fourth district of Kabul city on Wednesday afternoon. Several houses were destroyed and a school was also heavily damaged.
