UNHRC condemns Iranian attacks on other Gulf countries

NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: United Nations Human Rights Council,UNHRC has strongly condemned Iranian attacks targeting several countries in the region, calling on Tehran to provide full and immediate compensation to those affected. The UNHRC said the attacks breached the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the affected states and affirmed their “inherent right to self-defence, individually or collectively”, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.

The resolution was adopted during an emergency session in Geneva requested by Gulf countries and Jordan to address the human rights implications of what the council described as unjustified attacks. The measure, submitted by Gulf and Arab groups, stated that strikes targeting the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Jordan constituted a violation of international law and a serious threat to international peace and security.
