Emmy Awards 2025 - Adolescence bags six trophies
NEW DELHI [Maha Media]: The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards took place this past Sunday at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, celebrating the best in television. The night saw some big wins for both established shows and rising stars.
The psychological crime drama "Adolescence" was a major winner, taking home six awards. One of its actors, Owen Cooper, made history as the youngest-ever winner in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series category at just 15 years old.
In the final win of the night, the medical procedural drama series The Pitt took home the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series. This marked the show’s third trophy of the evening. “I want to dedicate this to all the healthcare workers, frontline, first responders,” the show creator R Scott Gemmill said.
Noah Wyle has just won his first Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in The Pitt as Dr Michael “Robby” Robinavitch.
"The Studio," co-created by Seth Rogen, won Outstanding Comedy Series. Rogen himself had a fantastic night, winning four Emmy awards, grabbing a total of 13 awards. This is the most Emmys ever won by a comedy series in a single year.
In a bittersweet moment, "The Late Show" finally won its first Emmy for Best Talk Series. This win comes just two months after CBS announced the show's cancellation, making it a fitting farewell after ten years on the air.
Stephen Colbert, the host of "The Late Show," presented the award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. He joked about his show's cancellation, saying that he had "200 very qualified candidates here tonight who’ll be available in June," which got a big laugh and a standing ovation from the audience.
Series 'Severance' received the most nominations this time. In the drama category, Tramell Tillman won the Best Supporting Actor award for 'Severance' Season 2, while Britt Lower won the Best Lead Actress award.
