'Gadar 2' crosses Rs 100 crore mark at box office
MUMBAI [Maha Media]: Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer 'Gadar 2' released in theatres on August 11 clashing with Akshay Kumar's film 'OMG 2'. 'Gadar 2' had a massive opening and it continued its golden run on Day and Day 3 as well. The movie has entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club as it made a whopping amount of Rs 135 crore in its opening weekend.
As per a report in Sacnilk, the Anil Sharma directorial made an estimated collection of Rs 52 crore. It started off with Rs 40 crore followed by Rs 43 crore on Saturday. 'Gadar 2' is the second-highest opener of 2023 after Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan'.
According to trade reports, the film will now aim to have a steady Monday collection and will pick up the pace again on Tuesday, August 15 which is Independence Day. It is said to cross Rs 200 crore very easily.
'Gadar 2' is a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha'. The sequel has Utkarsh Sharma, Simratt Kaur Randhawa and Manish Wadhwa in pivotal roles. The movie has got positive reviews and showered with lots of love from the audience. It is Sunny Deol’s biggest hit in his 40-year career.
